Tereshchenko Lab presented two poster presentations at AHA EPILifestyle 2018 conference. We for the first time showed that the Poincare Plot asymmetry, reflecting tachycardic runs longer than bradycardic runs, is independently associated with sudden cardiac death (SCD) in the community. Furthermore, we for the first time demonstrated that time-updated presence of PVC on a short 10-sec resting 12-lead ECG is associated with SCD.
Tereshchenko Lab presented two posters at highly competitive ACC 2018 !!!
David German, MD, OHSU Cardiology fellow, presented our work on Selvester Score. David showed that time-updated Selvester Score is independently (above time-updated incident coronary heart disease) associated with sudden cardiac death in two large cohorts: ARIC and CHS. Great work, David!!!
Tor Biering-Sorensen, MD, collaborating medical faculty from Denmark, presented our work on Global Electrical Heterogeneity. Analysis of regional longitudinal strain showed distinct patterns of associations between spatial ventricular gradient direction and regional left ventricular systolic function, which are likely contributing to the development of left ventricular dyssynchrony. Fantastic work, Tor!!!
Our manuscript "Genome-wide associations of global electrical heterogeneity ECG phenotype: The Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) and Cardiovascular Health (CHS) Studies" is accepted for publication in the Journal of the American Heart Association!!! Stay tuned for more details!
